From work at home the “chain” of transmission

[ad_1]

The “chain” of transmission of the new coronavirus -and- in Greece is particularly resistant, since one month after the start of the general blockade, the viral load remains high, since daily positive cases continue to correspond to 9-10% of all tests, while the number of intubated remains at a very high level, as well as the average daily deaths, which is one click out of 100.

Why is this happening; Why doesn’t the pandemic pressure in the country decrease, despite the fact that a blockade has been imposed for several weeks? For two reasons, as the experts explain. Because on the one hand, the mobility of citizens is quite increased compared to the first confinement that was imposed, in March and on the other hand, because the chain of transmission of the coronavirus now concerns the work-home route. In other words, workers in companies or factories carry the virus into their homes and transmit it to the entire family, including older members, who are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill and suffering complications.

In addition, concerns about relaxation that have been observed in areas outside of cities prevail. As those responsible for the periodic briefing on Friday pointed out, another question that arises from the observations and data refers to behavior in the villages and the meetings that take place, despite the prohibition, between families.

Northern Greece does not come out of “red”

The situation in northern Greece remains in “red numbers”, while in the “frame” of concern have entered other areas, where the viral load does not decrease or, in some cases, it has increased.

Nikos Hardalias referred to the areas that are in “red”, but especially to six areas where there is no reduction in the number of cases and the epidemiological burden, with the main volume of new cases moving from cities to villages.

He also announced the activation of two more tools and specifically the prohibition of entry into the country of those who are positive for the new coronavirus and, in addition, the prohibition of visits to Mount Athos.

More detail:

“Yesterday the extension of the confinement was announced until December 14. Active cases are 16,617. More specifically, of these, 7,031, that is, 42.3%, are in the Central Macedonia Region, 3,267, that is, 19.7%, are in the Attica Region, 1,777, that is, 10.7% are in the Thessaly Region, 1,590, that is, 9.6%, are in the East Macedonia and Thrace Region and 632, 3.8%, in West Macedonia “.

As observed by Mr. Hardalias, 86.1% of active cases are geographically distributed in 5 of the 13 Regions of the country. In particular, he noted that 66.4% are in the northern part of Greece.

In addition, he noted that Attica it represents 17.9% of active cases.

And continued:

“The percentages depend on compliance with the measures. Concerns for Xanthi, Pella, Drama, Florina, Pieria and Imathia. That is why we had a videoconference to evaluate the situation. In northern Greece, two out of three active cases are identified.

In these areas the epidemiological burden does not decrease and they present a constant number of cases and do not decrease, unlike other areas. Particularly in these areas, the cases occur in the villages. We make a recommendation to avoid any unnecessary movement, pending further tightening of the measures.

In Thessaloniki, Grevena, Larissa, Magnesia, Halkidiki, Kilkis, Karditsa, Serres, Trikala and Kavala there is still a high load.

Inspections will continue and we ask that protective measures be applied with dedication.

In the case of areas where the measures do not work, they will be taken

We activate two additional meters. “Those who are detected positive at the border will not enter the country and visits to Mount Athos will not be allowed.”

An extensive teleconference was previously held to assess the epidemiological situation as it is. in the Regional Units of Xanthi, Drama, Pella, Florina, Pieria and Imathia. The teleconference was held with the participation of the Minister of Civil Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, the Vice Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, the Vice Minister of the Interior in charge of Local Government, Theodoros Libanios, and the Secretary General, Vassilios.

He also participated in the video conference Professor Sotiris TsiodrasThe president of the Central Union of Greek Municipalities, Dimitris Papastergiou, as well as all the mayors of the Regional Units of Xanthi, Drama, Pella, Florina, Pieria and Imathia participated.

THE Gikas Majorkinis set:

As for the epidemic in Greece, the reduction of active cases continues. However, the contraction is less than last week. The decline of urban centers continued, but at a slower pace.

Thessaloniki remains a high RT index, while in Attica it decreased by 15-20%. In Larissa it also stays high.

In northern Greece, the epidemiological burden is higher. I especially ask those who live in small towns to observe the measurements. Just because you live in small communities doesn’t mean it doesn’t concern you. It concerns us all.

We hope that the vaccine will successfully stop the transmission of the virus. We have a long way to go. We must respect the measures in the coming months.

I have never mentioned a double box recording system. “

The Lady Vana Papaevangelou set:

“The curve is decreasing across Greece. By 1,750 cases on average. In some regions, Etoloakarnania, Pieria and Fthiotida we have not seen the reduction we expected. More than 4,000 patients are being treated.

We have constant ping pong between workplaces and families.

Reduction of the average age of the cases to 49 years. Last week we saw an increase in illnesses over the age of 65.

ICUs are still full, especially in northern Greece. At 84% in the Territory integrity in the ICU. The chain doesn’t say to break. The mobility of citizens did not decrease as much as in the first blockade.

One explanation is the dispersion in work structures, which is transmitted to homes and families.

Design this Christmas differently. Coping with the pandemic is a marathon, with many ups and downs. The pandemic has overcome the resistance of all of us, around the world.

Even when vaccines arrive, we need several months to build the wall of immunity. We will get adequate protection seven days after the first dose.

The main criterion for choosing a vaccine is the degree of exposure to infection (nursing staff), but also the risk of serious disease (elderly).

At the beginning of the year vaccines are in our hands. When they arrive, they will have been approved by the European Agency and will have been checked at the security level ”.
