Father Hieromonk Gabriel, according to Michalis Nikolaidis, died Friday afternoon in the ICU of Kavala Hospital, where he had been hospitalized for days.
The 53-year-old worked initially as a nurse, before becoming an administrator and then head of the hospital’s protocol service.
1.5 years ago he made the decision to follow God’s path and was ordained a priest, without leaving his post.
His funeral will take place on Saturday morning in a close family circle.
