Even the crew of a Greek warship managed to “invade” the coronavirus, despite the strictest measures taken by the General Staff of the Navy.
According to reports five crew members of the frigate “KOUNDOURIOTIS”, which has docked at the Crete Naval Station, tested positive for Covid-19, after a test was carried out. All prescribed procedures were immediately followed and EODY’s orders were faithfully observed.
The five patients were isolated on land, while we point out that the symptoms they all have are mild. At the same time, all crew members were tracked, fully disinfecting the ship in all areas. We emphasize that in no case does the detection of five cases of coronavirus affect the operation of the Greek frigate and obviously the ship it is perfectly capable of operating.
It should be noted that in the Navy, which is currently the spearhead in dealing with Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean, the cases are less than 100 out of a total of 16,250 people who provide services in the Sector.
