Extended for another week until December 14 at 6 am, τα restrictive measures applicable throughout the country due to coronavirus, as announced by the government spokesman, Stelios Petsas.

Exceptionally, from December 7 Exclusively seasonal Christmas retail businesses may operate, as well as the sale of these items by supermarkets. The details of the opening hours and the way in which these stores operate will be announced tomorrow, Friday, by the competent Secretary General for Commerce and Consumer Protection, Panagiotis Stampoulidis, as previously announced by the Ministry of Development.

In informing the political authors, Mr. Petsas pointed out that the gradual opening up of economic and social activity is moving away in time, taking into account epidemiological data. As you said, there is a stabilization or reduction of cases, but at a slower rate than expected.

Mr. Petsas pointed out that the epidemiological burden and the pressure on the health system remain at high levels. According to the government spokesperson, nationally there are higher than hospital admissions of patients, however many hospitals in northern Greece are still under great pressure.

Referring to vaccine against the coronavirus, he said there will be 1,018 vaccination centers across Greece and the goal is to vaccinate almost two million citizens every month. He stressed that there will be a vaccination campaign, possibly at the European level.
