Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is maneuvering at the last minute, intending to show a more pro-European profile on the same day that European leaders will meet on the issue of relations between the two sides.
In particular, on December 10, when the meeting takes place, President Erdogan plans to deliver a speech announcing reforms in human rights, justice, freedom of expression and individual rights.
Among the changes, in particular, is the observance of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and the judgments of the Constitutional Court of Turkey, since derogations and reduction of pretrial detention have been observed.
In any case, the Turkish president insists on the rhetoric of provocations, since a little before and on the occasion of the incidents in France, the Turkish president spoke about the human rights violations and the undemocratic behavior of the French police towards the protesters.
