The pirates took hostage the captain and two sailors of the five Greeks who belong to the crew of the ship Stelos K, which sails under the Togolese flag, according to the Ministry of Navigation and Insular Policy.
The other two crew members brought the ship to a safe port in Lagos.
Contacts are being maintained with the pirates to ensure the release of the three kidnapped sailors, according to the ministry.
