Endless tragedy with the Covid-19 disease, as EODY announced today 121 deaths in the last 24 hours. This is a new negative record which means that on average 5 people die per hour in Greece from the coronavirus pandemic.
At the same time, the number of intubated patients remains high, putting further pressure on the health system, which is already in critical condition. Today it was announced that 606 patients are admitted to the ICU by intubation, with a median age of 65 years.
Finally, cases remain in four digits, with EODY announcing another 1,747 new virus infections in the country in the last 24 hours.

Consistently in first place in terms of the number of daily infections is Thessaloniki, which recorded 486 new cases. Attica continues as always with 273, while Drama (57), Imathia (56), Kozani (54), Larissa (79), Magnesia (58), Pella (73), Pieria (90) and Serres are at high levels. (66).

The EODY announcement

Today we announce 1747 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 2 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 103,034, of which 53.0% are men.
It is considered that 4,867 (4.7%) are related to trips from abroad and 27,199 (26.4%) are related to an already known case.
606 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 65. 171 (28.2%) are women and the rest are men. 78.5% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 557 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
Finally, we have 121 more registered deaths and 2,223 total deaths in the country. 891 (40.1%) women and the rest men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 80 years and 96.8% had an underlying disease and / or 70 years or more.
