Two more nurses and a technologist lost the battle against the coronavirus.
As POEDIN president Michalis Giannakos told Newsbomb.gr, one of the nurses who ended up working at the Central Macedonia Welfare Unit on Drama, while an AHEPA technologist is among the victims of the deadly virus.
As Mr. Giannakos said, there are 6 nurses and 1 administrative employee who are treated by intubation, while in total 2,000 health workers are sick.
In terms of geographical distribution, 500 health diseases occur in Athens, 300 in Thessaly, 500 in Thessaloniki, 250 in East Macedonia and 200 in Central Macedonia.
In terms of ICU the situation, according to Mr. Giannako is extremely critical, as in central Macedonia all units are complete, while in Athens the situation is difficult.
In the Sotiria Hospital, of the 79 ICU beds, 71 are occupied, in Sismanogleio there are 14 vacant beds, while 8 additional units are expected to open in Attiko and 12 in Evangelismos. The president of POEDIN revealed to Newsbomb.gr that cases requiring intubation are transferred from Athens to the University Hospital of Rio and Corinto.
