A total of 26 people, 15 men and 11 women, were arrested in an illegal brothel in Omonia.
According to ELAS, as part of the inspections in the center of Athens, a brothel was located in a two-story building in the Omonia area, in which there were 26 people.
The police tried to carry out a pertinent control, but as soon as they saw them, people sealed the main entrance and the interior doors, to avoid the imminent control.
Then an operation to enter the building was organized, in the presence of a representative of the judicial authority.
Two women, temporarily in charge of operating the closed brothel, were found at the scene, nine workers and 15 men as clients. All violated the provisions on limiting the spread of the coronavirus.
The 26 people were arrested as part of the spontaneous process. All detainees were fined 300 euros, while the landlord and owner of the building were fined 5,000 euros and those temporarily responsible for 3,000 euros.
At the same time, a case was brought against seven of those detained by the Omonia Police, for violating the legislation on foreigners and the administrative measure of deportation will be applied to them.
