What the law provides in detail:
- Up to one passenger in addition to the driver is allowed in taxis and private cars. Exceeding the passenger limit is allowed only if the vehicle carries underage children, whose stay at home is impossible under the supervision of an adult or a person who needs help from a second passenger to move.
- Up to two people are allowed in Double Cab, Mixed Use and VAN type vehicles. It is allowed to exceed the occupant limit only if the vehicle carries underage children, whose stay at home under the supervision of an adult is impossible.
- In the case of students in non-urban areas, who use taxis to get to school, up to four people are allowed to travel, upon presentation of a corresponding certificate from the school principal. The same possibility is offered, presenting the corresponding certificate, for the cases of teachers in non-urban areas, who are attended either by taxi or in the vehicle of one of the teachers.
- In automobiles, the use of the mask is not mandatory if only the driver is riding it, if the passengers are spouses or partners, as well as if they are first and second degree relatives.
- The operation of passenger service vehicles used to transport personnel to and from work is allowed only with the presentation of the employer’s certificate and the corresponding movement card, from which the vehicle route is derived, and provided that a 50% maximum coverage of available passenger seats.
- If the passenger does not wear a mask, he is not allowed to enter the means of transport.
- For non-compliance with the sanitary measures, which concern passengers for public use, urban and interurban buses KTEL or KTEL SA, individual motorway buses of sterile lines, tourist buses and special open or closed city tour tourist buses, public buses , private, as well as buses under the jurisdiction of OASA SA and OASTH SA, an administrative fine of 150 euros is imposed on the driver of the vehicle and / or passengers, if applicable.
