Article 38 of the Smuggling Law includes changes in the rates of vehicles that will be registered after January 1, 2021.

In particular in Article 38 from bill including the new way to calculate traffic rates στα cars where he CO2 emissions will be measured in the new way that is none other than the standard WLTP that essentially increases average pollutant emissions.

As typically mentioned in Article 38 of the bill presented to Parliament entitled “Calculation of traffic rates according to the European and global method of CO2 emissions – Modification of article 20 of Law 2948/2001”
In section 1 of article 20 of law 2948/2001 (A ‘242) the following modifications are made:
Before the table of sub-case b. of circumstance A ‘of the title of paragraph 1 “Table I”.
After the sub. B. from circumstance A ‘of par. 1, β1 and β2 are added as follows: As of the entry into force of this for classified passenger cars for the first time in an EU / EEA Member State since 11/1/2010 to 12/31/2020 based on CO2 emissions per kilometer according to New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) As indicated in Vehicle license and only if these prices correspond to those listed in Certificate of conformity or other supporting document submitted to customs for calculation purposes Registration fees In accordance with the provisions of section 8 of article 212 of the National Customs Code (Law 2960/2001). In case the prices do not match, the prices of the pollutants listed in Certificate of conformity or the other supporting document submitted to customs as above. The calculation is carried out according to table I of subper. Β.
For passenger cars registered for the first time in an EU / EEA Member State from January 1, 2021 onwards CO2 emission values per kilometer according to Globally Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) as indicated in the vehicle license and only if these prices correspond to those indicated in the Certificate of Conformity or other supporting document presented to the customs for the needs of calculating the Registration Fees in accordance with the provisions of section 8 of article 121 of the National Customs Code. In case the prices do not match pollutant prices listed on the Certificate of Conformity or other supporting document submitted to customs as mentioned above. The calculation is made according to Table II.

Since the entry into force of this for classified passenger cars for the first time in a Member State EU / EEA from 11/1/2010 to 12/31/2020 based on CO2 emissions according to the new European driving cycle (NEDC) as indicated in the Marketing Authorization and only if these prices coincide with those listed in Certificate of conformity or other supporting document presented to Customs for the needs to calculate Registration Fees in accordance with the provisions of section 8 of article 212 of the National Customs Code (Law 2960/2001). In the event that the prices do not match, the prices of the pollutants that appear in the Certificate of Conformity or the other supporting document presented to customs in accordance with the above are taken into account. The calculation is carried out according to Table III of sub. Β
For passenger cars registered for the first time in an EU / EEA Member State by January 1, 2021 and from now on based on prices CO2 emissions per kilometer according to Globally Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) as indicated on the vehicle license and only if these prices correspond to those contained in the Certificate of Conformity or other supporting document submitted to Customs for the purposes of calculating the Registration Fees in accordance with paragraph 8 of Article 121 of the National Customs Code. In the event that the prices do not match, the pollutant prices listed on the Certificate of Conformity or other supporting document submitted to customs in accordance with the above are taken into account. The calculation is carried out according to Table IV.
