SYRIZA’s strong reaction was triggered by the government’s initiative to display in front of the national delegation snapshots of Greek history and important moments of the Greek army, as well as the image of the Virgin Mary in the context of the celebration of the Day of the Armed Forces. Every year, on November 21, day of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Day of the Armed Forces is celebrated at the initiative of the Greek State.
