German police started investigation of the murder charge against a doctor from the city of Essen, which allegedly killed two patients, which had been infected by Covid-19.

The 44-year-old doctor has worked for Essen University Hospital since last February. Supposedly granted a lethal solution for injection in two men, aged 47 and 50 years, WHO were hospitalized in the intensive care unit, in very serious condition.

According to the Essen police, the doctor was arrested on Wednesday and confessed to murder, saying that he wanted to save the patient and his relatives from his ordeal.

The Bild newspaper reported that the 44-year-old man had informed the patients’ families before giving them the lethal injection.

In Germany, according to a court ruling last year, patients can seek help to end their lives. It is not clear if this happened in this case.

THE euthanasia and any form of assisted end of life is a particularly sensitive topic in Germany, due to his great heritage Holocaust, the execution of more than six million people per Nazi regime and the inhumane experiments many of them were subjected to.

Essen Hospital announced that the doctor has made himself available and that he cooperates with the police in their investigation.
