The ICUs were filled at AHEPA, Papageorgiou, Ippokratio

The situation in Thessaloniki hospitals is at a critical point and this is reflected in the number of ICUs that are occupied. According to the latest data, the Covid-19 ICUs in AHEPA, Papageorgiou and Ippokratio are complete.

More specifically, in the Papageorgiou hospital that is on duty today, in five hours 170 citizens arrived with more than half suspected of coronavirus or patients while the vigil began in full in the beds of the Intensive Care Units.

The same situation in AHEPA that closed the vigil to fullness in the ICU, 90 new admissions, 20 suspected cases and two intubations.

Without beds in the Intensive Care Units there is the Hippocratic Hospital that starts the vigil on Friday morning.

The answer is no

The president of PEIK, Grigorios Sarafianos, in statements to protothema.gr said that the response given by clinicians to the ministry was negative. “We cannot treat patients with coronavirus and without coronavirus at the same time because there will be transmission of the virus to those who have not come into contact with them, so we will have both civil and criminal responsibilities,” he noted. It will be criminal, he characteristically said, clarifying that every day private clinics in Thessaloniki receive non-covid cases from city hospitals.

Tzitzikostas: the city is under attack

The situation prevailing in Thessaloniki was vividly described by regional governor Apostolos Tzitzikostas, telling MEGA that “the city is under attack.”

In this context, TRAINOSE has been requested to help and have a train available in Thessaloniki to transport more Covid-19 patients to hospitals in Attica. The train has already reached Thessaloniki and has six carriages.

At the same time, cases were found in a nursing home in Thessaloniki, as nurses and doctors arrived in the area to help their colleagues.
