There will be no applications, as there are no dividends, said Mr. Staikouras, during the presentation of government measures to support the labor market and vulnerable households. As he said, only the beneficiaries of the minimum income guaranteed with the regular December payment will receive double the amount, with the measure affecting approximately 482,000 citizens of 256,000 households.
The Minister of Labor, Giannis Vroutsis, recalled that the guaranteed amount is defined as follows:
- For each single person household: 200 euros.
- For each additional adult member of the household: increase in the guaranteed amount by 100 euros.
- For each minor member of the household: increase in the guaranteed amount by 50 euros.
Mr. Staikouras reiterated that the Refundable Advance measure will continue in 2021 and that the corresponding platform for requests to suspend contracts for the month of November is already operational.
The other measures presented by the two ministers did not add anything new to the information of citizens who are on their knees economically, since they are essentially a summary of those included in the electronic commerce bill that was approved last Tuesday.
- Affected company employees may be temporarily suspended from employment. Therefore, they are entitled to compensation for special purposes, in proportion to the period during which they are suspended.
- For companies whose operation is suspended by order of a public authority, it is possible to suspend the payment of VAT, as well as suspend the payment of regulated tax debt installments. For employees whose employment contract is suspended, it is possible to suspend the payment of installments of regulated tax debts, payable in November.
- The suspension of payment of bank loan installments continues, according to the expanded list of KAD April, in consultation with the Hellenic Banking Association, until the end of the year.
- The affected companies are entitled to a mandatory 40% rent reduction on their commercial properties. The same applies to the primary residence rented by employees who are suspended from employment, but also to the student residence rented by their children.
- Check payments ending on December 31, 2020 are suspended for 75 days The measure applies to companies that are suspended by state order or that have been seriously affected by the pandemic.
- The list of companies that are entitled to participate in the Refundable Advance is expanded. 4. Companies that close by state order have the right to participate in the financial scheme, regardless of their turnover, while receiving a minimum of 2,000 euros.
