The General Secretariat of Civil Protection advises citizens to be more attentive, take self-protection measures since Risks derived from the appearance of severe meteorological phenomena.
Progressive deterioration will present the weather in the southern island country from the hours of Thursday morning, with strong showers and thunderstorms which will be accompanied by strong winds and hail in some places, according to the emergency weather forecast bulletin issued by the National Meteorological Service (EMY).
Intense phenomena will affect Cyclades, the Crete Y Dodecanese.
They are expected to weaken in the Cyclades from late afternoon on Thursday and from noon on Friday in the other areas.
Guidelines for hazardous phenomena

In particular, in areas where Heavy rains, thunderstorms, or hurricane-force winds are forecast:
- Secure items that, if swept away by severe weather, could cause damage or injury.
- Make sure gutters and gutters in houses are not blocked and are working normally.
- Avoid crossing streams and streams, on foot or by vehicle, during storms and rain, but also for several hours after the end of your event.
- Avoid field work and activities in the sea and coastal areas during severe weather (risk of lightning)
- Take immediate precautions during a hail storm. Take shelter in a building or car and don’t leave the safe area until you are sure the storm is over. Hail can also be very dangerous for animals.
- Avoid going under large trees, under hanging signs, and generally in areas where light objects (eg flower pots, broken glass, etc.) can break off and fall to the ground (eg under balconies). .
- Faithfully follow the instructions of the locally competent bodies, such as Traffic, etc.

Winds: Northeast 4 to 6 and east and south 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 08 to 17 degrees centigrade. In the north the maximum is 3 to 4 degrees lower.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms in strong places. The phenomena of the evening hours in the Cyclades will weaken.
Winds: Northeast 6 to 7 and in the west gradually local 8 Beaufort.
Temperature: 12 to 17 degrees Celsius.
EAST EEGEUS ISLANDS, DODECANESE
Weather: Overcast skies temporarily increased with local rains and mainly sporadic thunderstorms from the south. The phenomena in the Dodecanese will be strong in some places.
Winds: Northeast 6 to 7 and locally 8 beauforts and south southeast 4 to 6 beauforts.
Temperature: 12 to 20 degrees centigrade. In the north 3 to 5 degrees lower.

Weather: Overcast skies temporarily increased with local rains and sporadic thunderstorms and a gradual weakening from late afternoon.
