More than 3,000 patients are being treated in Greek hospitals with coronavirus, as Matina Pagoni, president of the Athens-Piraeus hospital doctors, told SKAI TV, speaking about the course of the pandemic in our country. He also highlighted that the R index has gone from 1, “and is going to 2.”
He explained that the 1,698 new cases announced on Sunday by EODY should not be taken into account, since the samples were half, that is, about 14,000 molecular and 1,600 rapid tests.
However, we must count on the increase in deaths that we had not only yesterday, but in recent days, added Ms. Pagoni, adding that they are justified by the increase in the number of intubated and hospitalized in individual Covid-19 beds in the hospitals.
When will cases stabilize?
Ms. Pagoni emphasized that in Attica and in other cities except Thessaloniki, cases are expected to stabilize as of next Saturday (11/21) as 15 days have passed since the implementation of the new measures. This stabilization should continue for 3 to 4 days and the previous Saturday (11/28) should begin the reduction of cases.
For Thessaloniki, he said that it is a special case and needs more time compared to its population, the cases were too many. Therefore, the stabilization trend will start together with Athens and the other cities, although the restrictive measures in Thessaloniki started a week earlier.
