The reason for this development is the anticyclone or else the high pressure field that will initially develop in Western Europe and then spread to the central parts of the northeast of the Old Continent which brings the formation of the letter “Omega” of the alphabet Greek and essentially brings the climate of the northern parts of Europe a traffic that in meteorology is called meridian.
The first two attached maps show the omega blocker with the blue curve and with the black arrows the course of bad weather around them as they cannot pass through it. Imagine a mountain rising where the blue curve is, so bad weather passes around it.
The third attached map shows the 24-hour precipitation where the darker the colors, the more intense the phenomena we expect.
So heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday in the Ionian Sea and the northwest of the continent.
On Wednesday, these strong phenomena will spread to most of the continent and to the northwest of the western Aegean.
On Thursday, the strong phenomena will occupy the eastern and southern part of the country, while on Friday they will occupy the southern part of the sea.
Attention should be paid to stormy north winds in the Aegean, but also to snowfall at altitudes above 1500 meters.
The risk of flooding is particularly high in areas with a history of topography, construction, etc.

Clear weather is forecast in the rest of the regions, with temporary clouds over the continent and Crete.
Visibility in the morning and at night will be locally limited, mainly on the mainland, where fog is likely to form.
The winds will blow from the north 3 to 4 and from the southeast northwest 5 temporarily in the morning 6 beauforts. From the afternoon hours in the west, the winds will turn south with the same intensity.
The temperature will not change significantly.
TUESDAY 11-17-2020
In eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese initially a clear climate, but gradually clouds will form in the north and starting in the afternoon in eastern Macedonia there will be rain. In the Cyclades and Crete some clouds will gradually increase and from the afternoon there will be local rains. In the rest of the regions, rain clouds and thunderstorms initially in the west, but gradually the effects will expand further to the east and intensify.
Winds will blow in the southeast northwest from 4 to 5 Beaufort, with rapid weakening. In the rest of the country, 4 to 5 beauforts will blow from the south.
The temperature will increase slightly in relation to the maximum values.
WEDNESDAY 11-18-2020
In the islands of the Eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese some clouds that will increase quickly and there will be local rains. In the rest of the country, rain clouds and thunderstorms, which probably in the Ionian islands, the mainland and the Sporades are sometimes strong. Transient snowfall will occur in the mountains of the northern country, mainly in Epirus and western Macedonia. The effects of the early afternoon in the Northwest will weaken.
Winds will blow north from directions 6 to 7 north and
gradually into the North Aegean locally 8 Beaufort. The rest will blow
south 5 to 6 beauforts.
The temperature will drop mainly in the north.
THURSDAY 11-19-2020
In the northwest the clouds increased at times. In the rest of the regions clouds with local rains and mainly in the center and south sporadic storms. Light snowfall will occur in the mountains in the north of the country, mainly in eastern and central Macedonia. The effects of the night will weaken.
The winds will blow from 4 to 6 from the east, in the seas locally 7 and in the northern Aegean temporarily in the morning 8 hours beaufort with gradual weakening.
The temperature will not change significantly.
FRIDAY 11-20-2020
Some clouds temporarily increased with local rains in the east and south. Sporadic thunderstorms will occur in the south, mainly in Crete and the Dodecanese, but in the afternoon the clouds will stop and increase in the west, so at night there will be local rains and sporadic thunderstorms in the Ionian Islands. In the morning there will be light snowfalls in the mountains of eastern and central Macedonia.
The winds will blow in the west from directions east, in the east from the north 4 to 6 and in the north of the Aegean temporarily in the morning 7 beauforts. At night, in the Ionian, the winds will turn south and strengthen.
