EUROKINISSI / VASILIS REBAPIS
The regulation that will apply to the public after the closure of kindergartens and primary schools from next Monday until November 30, which includes both kindergartens and municipal and private nurseries, was presented by the Minister of the Interior.
At the same time, Takis Theodorikakos asked local authorities to employ staff from structures closed to social services, while announcing a legal regulation for the use of administrative staff in control mechanisms for compliance with quarantine measures.
As you specifically mentioned, for parents of public servants with children (up to 15 years old) in these stations, kindergartens and elementary schools, the first quarantine facilities will apply.
- Operation with absolutely necessary personnel.
- Teleworking as much as possible and in no case less than 50%
- The administration is obliged to ensure that officials belonging to vulnerable groups stay at home, either by teleworking or on leave.
- Parents can stay home either on a 25% reduced schedule, or by arrangement, or by using a leave of absence, so that one parent is home with their children.
- The employees of the municipal nurseries – whose operation is suspended until November 30 – receive a special allowance of 800 euros.
At the same time, provision is made for the inclusion of private nurseries in a repayable advance scheme.
Public employees who have a personal presence in the service must deal with the public, by appointment, as is the case to date.
Mr. Theodorikakos asked the governors and mayors to employ the staff of the municipal structures while they are closed, in social services such as “Help at home” and to help with controls. As he characteristically said, “there will be a legislative intervention that can be used by local authorities, in order to hire administrative personnel in the Municipal Police to control compliance with restrictive measures. “We are giving an additional 60 million euros to support these actions,” said the Interior Minister.
