The Thessaloniki Police is ready to operate in view of the Polytechnic anniversary.
As part of the precautionary measures and in order to avoid the possibility of people entering the facilities of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the police forces are located around the university campus.
At the same time, inspections of pedestrians and vehicles are carried out for the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The AUTh will remain closed on November 16 and 17, by decision of the Rectorate of the Foundation, a decision based on the criticality of the epidemiological situation in the city.
The issue of the Polytechnic was discussed at a recent meeting held, under the leadership of the Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis, at the General Directorate of Police of Thessaloniki.
In his statements, Mr. Chrysochoidis had clarified that this year, due to the pandemic, there will be no marches for the anniversary of the Polytechnic, while he informed about this decision personally, by phone, to all political leaders.
