ELAS proceeded with four arrests in Exarchia on Friday night, while imposing fines on nine people in the same area, for violating measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
It was preceded by a concentration of about 200 people who protested against the police operations that were carried out simultaneously, in the early afternoon, at the Polytechnic and the Polytechnic, for the evacuation of the premises.
At this moment, calm prevails in the wider area of the Polytechnic.
The police intervened due to overcrowding and the non-use of masks in many cases, while also proceeding with the arrests.
There were no incidents, but the protesters lit a fire that did not spread.
It is recalled that from the courtyard of the Polytechnic, 68 people were transferred to the General Directorate of Police of Attica, while from the Polytechnic 24.
The statements of the Minister of Civil Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, had preceded that “there will be no march by the Polytechnic, as well as that the police will strictly apply the law.”
