A police operation is underway to evacuate some 40 people from the Polytechnic who are occupying the area.
The police cut the padlocks at the entrance to Stournari Street and the MAT forces surrounded between 40 and 50 anti-authoritarians who had entered the institution, so far several people have entered that will be transferred to the General Directorate of Police of Attica.
About 40 people have invaded the area since Friday.
According to the information, the authorities had previously brought three people out of the Polytechnic.
It should be noted that ELAS plans were to exclude the facilities of the Polytechnic last night, while in yesterday’s meeting it was decided to deploy some 5,000 police officers throughout Attica, to avoid concentrations. Likewise, university institutions will be monitored, there will be patrols everywhere, while there will be a specific protocol for the placement of flower crowns in compliance with the regulations for protection against the coronavirus.
