HEDNO: Refund to domestic consumer accounts thanks …

[ad_1]

HEDNO posted on its website an online request to inform domestic consumers that they are entitled to a refund on their accounts through the 1% fee withheld from wind farms.

As reported by the Hellenic Scientific Association for Wind Energy, any interested party can use the following link https://apps.deddie.gr/OnePerCentReturnsRES/pages/index.html, to complete the details of their provision and to find out if they are entitled to a discount on your electricity bill. The publication of this application by HEDNO was one of the last steps still required for the actual credit of the discount to the beneficiaries.

This discount is one of the benefits that wind farms offer to local communities. Specifically, in accordance with the law (Law 3468/2006, nº 25), 3% of the turnover of the wind farms is automatically withheld and given as a priority to the residents of the towns that host the wind farms. This special 3% rate is distributed as follows:

1.7% in the local authorities where the stations operate. Local authorities are obliged to use it for environmental actions, local development projects and social support.

1% to local household consumers hosting stations to reduce electricity bills

0.3% in the Green Fund

As ELETAEN emphasizes, these are significant amounts that contribute to the dynamism of the local economy. About two years ago, 18 million euros were distributed to the locals through electricity bills, which were related to production until 2014.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy has initiated the return of the 1% rate to consumers regarding the production of wind energy for the period 2015 – 2019 and has published the list of amounts that will be reimbursed to domestic consumers for community. The total amount exceeds 30 million euros and is available immediately since it has already been withheld from the wind farms.

According to the list, some communities in the south of Evia, Rodopi, Sitia, Argolida and Viotia will receive amounts exceeding half a million or even up to a million euros.

You can find more details about the special 3% rate in the special chapter of the ask4wind initiative https://ask4wind.gr/society-myth01/
