The Vice Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, announced the new emergency measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, directing recommendations to the media and specifically to public and private television, to work with fewer presenters and guests.
This attitude has angered media workers in the information and entertainment sectors.
At a time when, after the first closure, the second has arrived and we ask people to stay at home as long as possible, the public and private media are called to work harder to inform citizens during more hours, but also to entertain them as the “cursed pandemic” and confinement have caused most of them stress and depression.
In fact, for the moment, the employees of the media in the information and entertainment sector who go to work every day, observing all the protection measures provided, but also with anxiety and fear, do so with a sense of responsibility for the needs of citizens who stay at home.
It is characteristic, as reported by people in the media, that Mr. Hardalias makes suggestions and recommendations, as if he knew the needs of the television media in human resources to produce the information required by the increase in conditions, but also alternative entertainment, for citizens. who are called to stay inside the house.
Certainly, however, what bothered them the most – as they say – is that Mr. Hardalias online from the television media, which he accuses, targeted media employees and businessmen, in the eyes of the television audience.
