Noting the urgency of the situation, Mr. Kikilias warned some time ago that “Everyone must understand that the situation in the prefecture of Thessaloniki, in northern Greece, is serious”, while it announced 50 new ICUs, that is, 6 at AHEPA, 7 at Xanthi General Hospital, 5 at Alexandroupolis University Hospital, 5 at Serres General Hospital, 15 at Ippokratio Hospital, 6 at Hospital de Giannitsa and 6 at the Hospital de Gennimatas.

It should be noted that the “Agios Pavlos” hospital, with a capacity of 93 beds, is already becoming a covid unit as part of the plan to deal with the nightmarish situation that has developed in the prefecture of Thessaloniki.
