It is reminded that citizens can contact, anonymously or anonymously, with the Office of the Prosecutor for Cyber Crimes to provide information or report illegal or reprehensible acts or activities carried out over the Internet.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate has recently reported cases of attempts to intercept personal data by email using “phishing” techniques.
Specifically, through e-mail, which is sent en masse to citizens, with an emerging postal company providing postal services, unknown perpetrators attempt to steal personal data under the pretext of demanding payment of transportation and storage costs.
The emails contain links that lead to websites where login details for online accounts (email, social media, web banking) and payment cards must be completed.
Then, if the recipient of the email fills in the required information, the perpetrators use it to gain unauthorized access to the victim’s accounts or to conduct unauthorized online transactions, using the data from the intercepted card.
Please note that these emails need a lot of attention as they are extremely realistic. Receiving Internet users are invited to:
do not select the suggested links,
do not reply to messages,
Do not enter and send personal data and credit card data, since they are in no case true.
