€ 800 Allowance – Vroutsis: The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Giannis Vroutsis, spoke to OPEN to clarify the payment of the € 800 allowance to employees amid a lockdown.
Specifically, when asked if the allocation of 800 euros that will be given will not be like that and it is for a communication trick as critical voices say, he replied
«I do not know where this information comes from, the non-existent news, but 800 euros is a real amount, it is neither fictitious nor fictitious.
The Prime Minister announced especially for the month of November and because we have ahead at Christmas the 534 euros will become 800 euros. And of course, there are thousands of employees who will receive 800 euros in full since the announcement may have started on 11/4, but there are employees who have been in the process of suspending their employment contract since November 1.
So everyone will take the 800 euros. But there are other employees who will receive part of 800 euros plus the part of their salary corresponding to the accrued days of the month. So these employees will exceed 800 euros, depending on the salary ratio. So 800 euros is a real number and not something fake or a trick».
Finally, regarding the payment of the allocation of 800 euros, he said “Especially for November and because Christmas is approaching us and December is a difficult month we do everything possible to the ministry for the payment, which will be done in another way:
XWe define employees in two categories:
1) to those belonging to affected companies. In this case, there is an obligation on the part of companies and employees to present the returns from 11/15 to 12/7/2020. This means that by doing so, ERGANI will collect the amount owed from the start of filing the return, that is, after 12/7 and gradually until the end of the month.
2) Business closed. Employers and employees must submit their data from 11/15 to 11/24 to get paid after 11/24 and until December 3. He added that we also keep an interval which is a logical request from the accountants for them to make corrections.».
