The data cited by Nikos Thomaidis, professor of analytical chemistry at EKPA, is shocking, according to which, at the moment, there are even 80,000 active cases in Attica.
According to the professor, if someone gets sick from the virus from his waste, which goes to Psyttalia, he can see the viral load.
“Right now we are seeing a coronavirus transmission of around 1.5-2%, that is, around 60,000-80,000 active carriers right now in the community of 4.2 million people,” he said, speaking at the Sky television.
He added that “every day we take a sample of Psyttalia, analyze the viral load of the coronavirus and deliver the results to the Public Health Committee of the Ministry of Health while noting that recent tests show that the viral load of the coronavirus is consistently high and that we are on the rise of the second great wave.
At the same time, he stressed that the commission of the Ministry of Health has matched the viral load with the cases in the population and have seen the correlation.
He explained that “there is no direct analogy with the cases announced by EODY because we take a sample and see how many carriers we will find approximately from the population while they (EODY) are intentionally checking suspected cases.”
