A 17-year-old man was arrested for illegally transporting immigrants

The coordinated action of police from the Asprovalta department led to the arrest of a 17-year-old boy for the illegal transfer of nine immigrants (two minors), who lacked travel documents.

Specifically, this morning on the old Kavala – Thessaloniki National Highway, the police located a car with the detainee’s driver, who did not comply with a parking signal and developed speed. Then, at the Asprovalta-Vrasna crossing, the car driven by the detainee overturned and stopped, with no injuries.

The Agios Athanasios immigration management department filed a case against the 17-year-old for illegal transportation: promotion of immigrants, illegal entry into the country, disobedience, dangerous driving, while the driver was found to lack a driver’s license. The detainee, with the file against him, will be transferred to the competent Prosecutor.
