Coronavirus – All the news: Concern is strong about the spread of the epidemic in areas outside of Attica and Thessaloniki – There is great pressure on the NSS – EODY announced 2,448 new cases of coronavirus in the country on Friday (11/06)
The “effervescence” is imposed in the circles of the health authorities due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus, in areas outside Attica and Thessaloniki, where more than 50% of new cases are detected.
Thessaloniki and Attica remain on “red” alarm, registering 683 and 492 new cases, respectively. However, the situation also seems difficult in the rest of Greece. the dispersion is great as evidenced by the 2,448 cases diagnosed yesterday Friday.
Specifically, except Attica and Thessaloniki There are 2 more regions that have more than 100 cases and they are Drama (100 infections) and Larissa (120 infections).
In this context, Professor Gikas Majorkinis spoke of a slight reduction in infections in Attica and of an “explosion” in Thessaloniki with six times more diagnoses per unit of population. Therefore, he noted that the epidemiological situation worsens more in northern Greece.
In detail, the assistant professor of the EKPA Faculty of Medicine and member of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Health, spoke about “Aggressive growth dynamics” In our country. Globally, 600,000 new cases were recorded in one day for the first time.
At the same time, it is characteristic that EODY teams made up of Mobile Health Groups (KOMY) carried out rapid tests in various areas on Friday and it is interesting that 89 tests were carried out in the Deskati square in the Grevena region and 28 positive tests were found. (31.5%), in Lofos de Pieria Square, 34 tests with 8 positive cases (23.5%) and in Kilkis Town Hall Square, 741 tests with 51 positive cases (6.9%).
The list of young people who are being treated in intensive care units grows
At the same time, the number of young people admitted to hospitals with severe symptoms is increasing, while admissions and intubation increase between 40 and 64 years.
“Young people from 19 to 39 have the greatest impact, while those from 40 to 65 are about 600 diagnoses per million inhabitants,” said Gikas Majorkinis.
With the number of patients in the country already exceeding 1,750 and with revenues breaking one record after another, reaching 295 yesterday, the average number of those who need treatment is decreasing.
In total, 79 of the intubated are in the age group 40 to 64 years, of which 18 are 45 to 54 years.
Dozens of young people are being treated for pneumonia in the country’s covid clinics, while 3 patients aged 19 to 39 are under mechanical support, which shows that the coronavirus is “hitting” indiscriminately, as experts explain that it is not necessary to have underlying diseases.
The NSS “suffocates”
The country is entering a new lockdown with 1,854 people receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
Yesterday 292 patients were added and on Thursday so many more were added, so the health system is suffocating.
The Intensive Care Units (ICU) treated 234 people yesterday, of which 204 were intubated.

They are being treated at the Hippocratic Hospital in Thessaloniki. 6 children, 2 to 12 years old.
