Cases today: EODY announced on Friday (06/11) 2,448 new cases of coronavirus in the country, of which 63 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways.
According to Gikas Majorkinis, assistant professor of the EKPA Faculty of Medicine and member of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Health, of 2,448 new cases, 493 were detected in the Attica region, 683 in the Thessaloniki region, 100 in the Drama region, 120 in the region. Larissa, 61 in the Kavala region and 62 in the Imathia region.
Majorkinis spoke about “Aggressive growth dynamics” In our country. Globally, 600,000 new cases were recorded in one day for the first time.
“Young people from 19 to 39 years of age have the greatest impact, while those from 40 to 65 approach 600 diagnoses per million inhabitants”, he continued. The infectious disease specialist noted that there are an average of 10 deaths per day, but “Unfortunately, we expect this number to increase dramatically in the coming days.”
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, made a call not to make excessive use of exceptional trips, saying that the controls will be sweeping throughout Greece and while the licenses of the Hellenic Police have been revoked.
Mr. Hardalias recalled that as of Saturday (07/11) there will be a 24-hour traffic restriction per lockdown and travel only by SMS for the following reasons:
- Work,
- go to school,
- in stores,
- on the banks,
- for health reasons,
- go to a funeral, p
- physical exercise
- and transition for divorced parents.
