The epidemiological data of our country in recent weeks were presented by Sotiris Tsiodras.

The total number of cases has exceeded 1,600 cases in 7 days, while since the end of October the susceptibility of the virus has increased.

As for the tests, they have multiplied by twenty in the last month. Specifically, the increase in tests exceeds 9% in the last ten days.

Mr. Tsiodras explained that the health system will be under pressure in the coming days, as more people enter hospitals than are discharged.

Hospitalizations affect not only the elderly, but also the 55-65 age group, but also those 35-44. The data shows that the increase in hospitalizations and the increase in intubated patients will come. ICU coverage reaches 60% in the country.

The teacher also talked about the “accident of death” with the average. deaths to reach 10 per day.

The deaths mainly affect people over 75 years of age, however there is a small increase in the immediately preceding age group.

The professor also responded to the fake news that has been circulating for a long time in our country and abroad.

As he pointed out, the spread of fake news is a danger to public health.

The professor even gave some examples.

“Some people falsely said that Switzerland had a fake laboratory test, while in New York they said that the vaccine would be tested in minorities.”

Mr. Tsiodras stressed that “we fear that this false news will affect the world and as for the vaccine, which we hope to have next year.”

“The virus is here, the fight with it continues,” he concluded.
