The heaviest report since the start of the pandemic was announced today by EODY, as the number of intubated workers rises alarmingly.
In particular, in the last 24 hours, 2,166 new cases were registered, of which 22 are related to outbreaks and 40 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 44,246, of which 54.7% are men. The previous negative record was set last Saturday with 2,056 cases.
4225 (9.5%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 14111 (31.9%) are related to an already known case.
Meanwhile, 169 patients are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 65. 38 (22.5%) are women and the rest are men. 89.3% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 300 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
Finally, another 13 deaths were registered, the total number of victims of the virus in the country being 655. Of these, 255 (38.9%) were women and the rest were men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.3% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
