The situation in the nursing home in Ioannina is evolving dramatically, as all the elderly people who were housed in the private Elderly Care Center were diagnosed with coronavirus.
In total, the elderly who stay in the nursing home are 56, while 2/3 of the employees were positively diagnosed.
The elderly were treated at the Infectious Diseases Units of the University of Ioannina, Arta and Igoumenitsa.
The case is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office at the request of the Governor of the 6th Health District.
It is recalled that two days ago the president of POEDIN made the issue known with his announcement, who highlighted that 24 cases had been confirmed in a private nursing home.
According to this news, these are cases among the guests of the nursing home, some of whom have exhibited severe symptoms.
Earlier this week, according to information from epiruspost, a case was confirmed among the staff of the specific house.
As mentioned, the patients were transferred to the Ioannina University Hospital, but because there are no beds available, they are treated in other hospitals in Epirus.
Ioannina is seen to be in a state of increased danger due to the coronavirus pandemic.
