The operation of the regular outpatient clinics of the Papanikolaou hospital is suspended, where only on-call emergencies and patients with chronic diseases will be treated in case of emergency.
The above are provided by the emergency measures taken by the Papanikolaou Hospital (Reference Hospital for Covid-19) according to the announcements of the Ministry of Health, which are valid as of today.
These measurements provide in detail:
– Suspension of the operation of all usual outpatient consultations and evening surgeries, as well as appointments in all laboratories. Scheduled appointments are postponed and will be rescheduled as a matter of priority. The “Outpatient Surveillance for COVID 19 patients” is excluded from the Outpatient Clinics suspension due to its special purpose. This measure is valid until Friday, November 6, 2020. Its continuation will be re-evaluated based on the evolution of the pandemic.
– Reduction of all regularly scheduled surgeries by 80% and only emergencies will be performed (emergency and extremely serious surgeries, such as oncology). This measure is valid until Monday, November 9, 2020. Its continuation will be re-evaluated based on the evolution of the pandemic.
– Patients, until Monday, November 9, 2020, will go to the Hospital on the day of general service only for emergencies.
– Patients with chronic diseases who are under regular control can attend only in case of absolute necessity and after consulting their doctor.
– The visit is allowed only in case of urgent need and with the permission of the Coordinating Director of the clinic.
– Strict compliance with the current measures on the mandatory application of a mask in all areas of the Hospital by all staff and patients continues (except in cases where there is a medical contraindication).
The administration of the Papanikolaou Hospital calls on all our citizens to follow instructions and cooperate to help the already burdened health system. He also points out that due to the unavoidable impact on attendance, which causes an acute reduction in the blood supply, the Hospital Blood Donation normally continues in a separate individual building near the Hospital door (Blood Donation Building). Blood collection hours: 8: 30-14: 00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday, 17: 00-20: 00 Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
