More measures to protect university facilities are just around the corner after the unacceptable attack on the rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Dimitris Bourantonis.
Measures are expected to be implemented as soon as possible. It should be noted that today Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to videoconference with the rectors of the Universities but also with the leaders of the Ministries of Education and Citizen Protection.
During the meeting that will take place at 4:00 p.m. New measures to “strengthen” universities are expected to be discussed to prevent similar attacks in the future., but also to ensure the smooth running of academic events that take place on campus.
For the new plan to guarantee the safety of universities, according to the “NEWS”, the entrance card has been dropped on the table by installing special entrance control machines but also the transfer of surveillance of the university campus to private companies.
These measures, which are likely to be announced even today, will serve to support change in the institutional framework for university asylum.
