Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias implemented an emergency plan for Thessaloniki, as stated in a statement from the Health Ministry. According to the plan already implemented, 43 new ICU-COVID beds were secured in order to increase the capacity of the NSS in Thessaloniki.
More specifically, 8 ICU-COVID beds are added to the General Hospital “Agios Pavlos”, 10 beds to the General Hospital “G. Gennimatas”, 10 beds in PGNTH AHEPA, 4 beds in 424 Military Hospital, 6 beds in GNTH “G. Papanikolaou “and 5 beds at Halkidiki General Hospital.
Mr. Kikilias has called to inform the competent officials of the parliamentary parties, tomorrow, Monday, November 2, at 2:00 p.m., at the Ministry of Health. Immediately after the briefing, the minister will go to Thessaloniki.
“Things are going badly in Thessaloniki, things are problematic in Athens. The state and health workers must shield the health system, increase ICU beds for COVID, something that began,” Professor Charalambos previously told SKAI Gogos.
The necessary restrictive measures due to the coronavirus are being taken too late for Thessaloniki, former minister and former president of PASOK Evangelos Venizelos previously stressed in a post on Facebook.
