From the first hours after the Samos earthquake, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport sent a team of 10 engineers to carry out autopsies and for the assessment of the damage to the affected buildings (public buildings, houses, temples), but also to the island’s ports.
On Saturday, the capacity of 47 ministry engineers was strengthened.
In detail new ladder consists in:
- 16 engineers from the Directorate for Rehabilitation of the Impact of Natural Disasters (DAEFK) of northern Greece.
- 21 engineers from DAEFK Central Greece.
- 5 Building Infrastructure Engineers (KTYP) SA
- 4 engineers and a designer from the General Directorate of Hydraulic, Port and Building Infrastructure
The ladder of the General Directorate, specialized in port infrastructure, carries out an inspection in the island’s ports, which have been damaged by seismic vibration. At the same time, the five engineers from KTYP SA have started inspections in schools and health units on the island.
