Tragedy on Samos after the strong 6.7 Richter earthquake that occurred off the island. Two 17-year-old boys were crushed by a wall that collapsed and were dragged out dead.
They are two high school students, a girl and a boy, who returned from their school in Vathi of Samos.
The two children were walking down a small alley shortly after the earthquake. They passed a ruined wall, which collapsed on them.
Rescue teams rushed to free them and, according to reports, took them out dead.
According to the same information, parents searching for their children after the earthquake did everything the two students did every day to locate them.
When they saw the ruins, they alerted the EKAB rescuers.
All the information speaks of at least 10 injured in Samos due to the earthquake.
At the same time, some buildings have suffered damage, including the diocese of Karlovasi.
The damage was caused by both the strongest vibration and the four small tsunamis recorded.
There are dozens of aftershocks, some of which are quite strong.
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has issued a warning to residents to stay away from dilapidated buildings.
