The need to impose a blockade on European Union countries was expressed by Chancellor Angela Merkel during the teleconference of EU leaders on how to tackle the pandemic.
According to Politico’s Brussels correspondent David Hersenhor, Merkel called on EU leaders to clamp down.
Politico notes that the strongest intervention during the teleconference was made by the German chancellor, who allegedly told leaders that the only way to stop the spread of the coronavirus is with a quick and immediate day like closure. “We should have done it sooner,” he said.
#Merkel (no surprise) with the most dominant intervention so far during #EUCO videoconf, telling leaders that the only way to end the pandemic is to take swift and early action, lockdowns, etc.
