Majorkinis: Aggressive increase in cases towards the gates
The EKPA associate professor and member of the Expert Committee Gikas Majorkinis spoke about the aggressive increase in coronavirus cases in our country, during the official information from the Ministry of Health on the evolution of the pandemic in our country.
As Majorkinis noted, the epidemic in the country increased last week, with new data showing that an aggressive increase in cases is imminent.
This development, according to the professor, coincides with the drop in temperature and the increase in indoor gatherings.
Majorkinis reiterated that there is a worrying increase in cases in the northern regions of the country, noting that of the 1,259 new cases announced today, 291 were in Thessaloniki, 75 in Rodopi, 55 in Serres and 47 in Larissa, areas that also show the burden epidemiological increased. In Attica, according to the professor, in the last 24 hours we had 295 new cases.
Likewise, Mr. Majorkinis highlighted that the number of patients who lose the battle with their lives has increased, which now ranges between 9 and 10 on average, since there is an increase in the number of intubated patients that today for the first time exceeds the 100 (namely 102), which increases the pressure on the health system.
