How the family tragedy happened in Perama

It was shortly after 10:00 p.m. when the 21-year-old became curious about his weapon. Inside was a sphere. A careless move was the reason why his older brother lost his life so unfairly. More specifically, while the 21-year-old police officer was cleaning his gun, he reportedly pulled the trigger awkwardly, as a result of which the bullet was driven into his brother’s head. The father of the two young policemen, a prison officer from Korydallos Prison, was also present at the tragic incident.

The 25-year-old wounded policeman was immediately taken to “Attikon” hospital for first aid. However, his battle to stay alive lasted only a few hours, after it ended shortly before 04:00 a.m. on Sunday, despite the best efforts of doctors. The shocked 21-year-old police officer was taken to the prosecutor, where he was temporarily released, while a regular trial was scheduled.
