Secret Information from Sisi to Mitsotaki – Anastasiadis: “Prepare for the Jihadists”

Egypt warns Greece and Cyprus about the danger of jihadists, with a secret report presented to the highest level of leadership, according to the daily “Ta Nea”.

According to the newspaper, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi himself relayed Cairo’s fears, warning both Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis that Turkey is now “openly” involved and “using” Islamist elements.

According to information quoted by the newspaper, at the VIII Cyprus-Greece-Egypt Tripartite Summit, held in Nicosia last Wednesday, Sisi conveyed to the Greek and Cypriot leaders his concern about the Ankara’s involvement in all regional conflicts and, above all, about the way in which Recep Tayyip Erdogan involves Islamists.

Al-Sisi reportedly conveyed to his two interlocutors that the issue is extremely important and asked them to keep it high on their diplomatic agenda. According to him, the issue concerns both the Libyan front and the internal security of Egypt itself. But, as he said, control by Islamists is seen as crucial not only in his own country but also in the wider region.
