The archives of the Polish National Memorial Institute came to light and it was revealed that there was indeed a British spy named James bond.

His wife, Janet Bond, now 88, claims the man was a spy. But he does not know what the real purpose of his trip to Warsaw was. As he mentions, no one wanted to call him by James’s name, and was introduced as Jim Bond. Officially he was an officer in the British Army, but Janet Bond is convinced that her husband was an undercover agent.
However, it’s worth noting that the hero of Ian Fleming’s iconic novel was reportedly inspired by another undercover agent who also existed in real life. He was a spy by name Dusko Popov, originally from the Balkans, which was based on the “creation” of “007” that we all loved on the big screen …
