The areas located at levels 3 and 4 of the health security map refer to the new measures announced today by the Prime Minister, shortly after the announcement of the third consecutive negative record of cases in the country.

At level 3 (state of highest surveillance) there are more than 15 regional units of the country, including Attica, while since yesterday Thessaloniki, Boeotia, Larissa and Serres have passed through it. Kastoria is in lockdown mode (level 4) since yesterday, while Kozani was already in a state of heightened alarm.

Also at alert level 3 are the following areas: Ioannina, Achaia, Boeotia, Lesbos, Samos, Zakynthos, Trikala, Karditsa, Edessa, Mykonos, Paros, Pella, the Islands of Attica, Kythnos and Kea, Santorini and Heraklion.

Of the total of 882 new cases announced today by EODY, 290 were registered in Attica, 188 in Thessaloniki, 23 in Ioannina, 15 in Kastoria, 10 in Kozani, 40 in Larissa and 65 in Serres.

See below in detail the most recent map, after yesterday’s update.

The new measures

In areas with an increase in dangerous cases, those of levels 3 and 4, traffic will be prohibited from 12:30 p.m. after midnight until 5:00 a.m. As the Prime Minister clarified, those who work at night and in emergencies are excluded.

Second, wearing a mask becomes mandatory everywhere. Not only indoors but also outdoors.

The two new regulations will be accompanied by the strengthening of controls for compliance with existing measures. Store owners who fail to comply, as well as employers who fail to protect their employees, will be penalized. And, of course, telecommuting will expand even further, whenever possible.
