New emergency weather report The National Meteorological Service issued today, Wednesday, warning of strong phenomena throughout the day and until Thursday night.
In this context, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection gives instructions for the protection of citizens.
Where will the intense phenomena “hit”?
EMY warns about heavy rains, thunderstorms and in places hailstorms in Crete, the Cyclades and the Dodecanese.
Specifically, the intense phenomena will affect Crete until the hours of Thursday afternoon, until noon of the same day it will continue in the Cyclades – especially in the west – and until the morning in the Dodecanese.
Protection instructions
The SG provides instructions for protection against serious phenomena. Specifically, ask citizens:
- Secure items that, if swept away by severe weather, could cause damage or injury.
- Check the gutters and gutters to make sure they are not clogged and are working properly.
- Don’t cross torrents and streams during severe events
