Evelpidon School: Multiple Cases of Coronavirus

An alarm has been sounded in the Armed Forces as confirmed multiple cases of coronavirus in the School of Guards.

According to the information, at least 10 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in students and staff of the School of Guards.

The relevant EODY protocols were immediately activated to deal with Covid-19 incidents in the Armed Forces. The process of tracking the contacts of people who tested positive for the virus is underway. Previously, EODY had announced 667 new cases of coronavirus in Greece, of which 250 in Attica and 125 in Thessaloniki. EKPA Athens School of Medicine professor Gikas Majorkinis noted during the live coronavirus briefing that more than 50% of new diagnoses are now outside Attica.

In addition, the professor said that a significant increase in cases is observed in northern Greece, citing cities such as Ioannina, Kastoria, Serres and of course Thessaloniki, where there is an “explosion” of Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours.

It is observed that since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in Greece, by order of the Ministry of National Defense, the protection measures against the spread of the virus in the Armed Forces are strict, with all units throughout Greece in the Army, Air Force and Navy to Follow specific instructions to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
