More than 5,000 are active cases in our country, according to the Vice Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalia, during the briefing on the course of the epidemic in the country, during which 667 new cases of coronavirus were announced.
The undersecretary pointed out that the situation in northern Greece is critical.
Addressing the citizens of Thessaloniki (652 cases), Kastoria and Ioannina (124 cases), he called attention to be alert.
“We call on the residents of Ioannina, Kastoria and Thessaloniki to remain fully alert, as there is a particularly high epidemiological burden in the last 24 hours.
There will be a review of the data by the experts of the epidemiological map tomorrow, Wednesday at 17:00 in the afternoon ”.
He also appealed to the inhabitants of Boeotia and Serres to take action.
“In Kastoria there is an aggressive outbreak,” stressed Mr. Hardalias and stated that tomorrow he will participate in a meeting for the Region.
“Yesterday the average age of active cases in Thessaloniki was 30 years and in Attica 33 years,” revealed Mr. Hardalias.
Central sector overloaded
“In Attica the situation remains critically stable and in the central sector it is fragile,” said Mr. Hardalias and responding to a question about the overwhelmed areas of Attica, he replied: “I don’t know how the Constitution came about. The central sector is overloaded. Attica is in a stable situation and does not produce a large number of cases. Due to the volume and population that accompanies metropolitan Athens, the situation can be reversed in about 24 hours. “
On the presence of fans in the fields of the Super League:
“In recent weeks a specific plan has been formulated so that this can be achieved with full respect for protection measures and standards.
“However, the flow of the results of the cases in the last hours and the aggressive outbreak of the pandemic led the prime minister to revoke the decision due to the presence of a limited number of fans,” said the deputy minister.
