Recruitment: on the occasion of the crisis in Greek-Turkish relations, many Greeks wonder, a fact that can be seen in their Internet searches, what are these ages called in case of recruitment and when is an exemption obtained.
The general rule is that in the orange alert state (not war) all ranks (ESSO) that have received diplomas in the last two years, as well as members of specific specialties (minesweepers, radar pilots, etc.) are recruited. and of course the special dynamites (UC, Marines, LOC, etc.).
Analytically:
a) Special mobilization status (specific specialties) or partial (specific areas) (orange alarm):
The Individual Invitation Cards (which are attended by the police 24 hours a day) must be present in the units indicated by the FAP within the indicated period. In frontline areas, this period is defined as IMMEDIATE and no more than 2-4 hours (the last partial mobilization took place in the East Aegean in January 1996 and set a period of 2 hours). In the other areas, the time margin increases with distance. The trip to the unit and back (after expiration) is free and is done with special coupons located at the bottom of the FAP.
If there is an objective impossibility of going to the established time limit (because for example you are traveling or there is no means of transport, etc.) then you go IMMEDIATELY to the Reserve Promotion Camp (there are many in each prefecture), which takes over from there and beyond the obligation either to promote it to your unit or to admit it to another unit in consultation with GEETHA.
According to the regulations there are two phases of mobilization. In the first phase those under 41 are invited and in the second those between 41 and 45 years old. Those over 45 years of age are temporarily exempt from special and partial mobilization. In practice, however, the ones with green leaves are the first to be called. Those with targets belong to Phase II! There are people who have a white sheet course under the age of 41, they do not have a critical specialty for this and they are not an immediate priority. Note that certain specialties have other worksheet colors. In this case, they already know what to do and if they have forgotten they should contact the military services, because they usually have secret instructions.
All reservists (that is, those who have completed our term) have received a special roadmap. The special codes are written in the EFP, so your unit has informed you and I do not write more details why they have been classified. Those who do not remember where the codes correspond can go to the military service in their area. White EPC holders go WHERE THEY ARE REQUESTED, but as we said they are part of the second phase, so in theory they will be notified at home. It is a good idea to declare your military service for the change of address, because at the critical moment critical forces will be wasted searching for you while you may have already gone to your units.
b) General recruitment status – Red alarm – War
In this situation, in terms of ages, the above also applies. Of course, the regulation stipulates that the age limits can be differentiated according to the needs of the country, without defining the youngest or oldest age. In practically a state of war, EVERYONE capable of carrying a weapon is called to fight.
c) What documents do the invited persons bring with them:
- The FAP sent to you by the Recruitment Authority.
- The special roadmap.
