A second front, this time in the north aegean sea, try to open the Turkey with an obvious objective, on the one hand, at an operational level, to divide the Greek naval forces on the other hand, to a diplomat, to send a message to the Greek side about his demand for demilitarization of the Greek islands. Already early in the morning yesterday there was an important meeting Turkish warships in the area, including some of the best and newest surface units in the Turkish fleet. According to the information, the Turkish fleet leaving the Dardanelles it spread in the maritime zone between Lemnos, Tenedos and Imvros, causing the corresponding mobilization of the Greek Navy, whose units were placed in key positions in order to closely follow Turkish activity.

According to Pentagon circles the sudden departure of the Turkish ships from the Dardanelles is directly related to the three navtex issued by the Smyrna hydroelectric power station through which the maritime areas of the North Aegean are blocked for the conduct of exercises of the Turkish Navy. The most recent of them, in fact, claims that today, from morning to afternoon, the Turkish PN is going to carry out exercises with live fire, between Chios and Lesbos. The specific exercises will be carried out in combination with the naval exercises that took place yesterday, in Turkish territorial waters, in the Gulf of Xiros and at a distance of about 30 nautical miles southeast of Alexandroupolis. This particular event resulted in increased surveillance of Evros units, as the amphibious forces of the Turkish army also participated in these secondary schools.

At the same time, on greater alert ships of the Greek fleet have also been placed monitoring the activity of the Turkish research vessel Oruc Reis in the southeastern Mediterranean, since, apparently based on the course it has set, if it does not change course, it is expected to approach, for the second time in three days, a very close distance. Kastelorizo. The greek side afraid the Turks will want to make a move to impress, just before the expiration of the existing navtex that have been issued for research in a huge maritime area between Rhodes and Kastelorizo, whose northeast border is 10.5 kilometers from the Greek island. In this context, the following days and until October 22 when the navtex in question is completed, it is considered extremely critical for creating facts which could increase the degree of tension between Greece and Turkey in the region.
